Roblox Text Chat Commands
A little-known Roblox feature is Text Chat Commands. These Roblox-made commands are available in all experiences, and a list of some of them can be viewed by typing /help, however there are some hidden ones which can be useful too.
Help commands
/help or /?: Shows a small list of some text chat commands.
Message commands
/whisper <username> or /w <username>: Privately message another player in the same server as you.
/team <message> or /t <message>: Send a message to people on the same team as you. This command only works for experiences using multiple teams, and can be disabled.
Safety & privacy commands
/mute <username>: Hides all messages sent by the user you muted. Useful if you don't want to block someone but don't want to see their messages.
/unmute <username>: Unmutes the user you muted. Must have already muted the user before using. Does not show messages sent when the user was muted.
/clear or /cls: Clears all messages in the text chat window for yourself. Useful to hide abusive messages sent by a user that has already left the server.
/block <username>: Blocks the user. For more information on blocking a user, press here.
/unblock <username>: Unblocks a blocked user. They must already be blocked. Messages sent by the blocked user while they were blocked will not appear.
Dance commands
Dance commands may not work in some experiences and with some avatars.
/e dance: Must be using R6 package. Makes your Roblox avatar dance. Must not already be dancing.
/e dance2: Must be using R6 package. Makes your Roblox avatar do a different dance. Must not already be dancing.
/e dance3: Must be using R6 package. Makes your Roblox avatar do a different dance. Must not already be dancing.
/e cheer: Makes your avatar do a cheer.
/e point: Makes your avatar point.
/e wave: Makes your avatar wave.
/e laugh: Makes your avatar laugh.
Developer commands
Developer commands may not work in some experiences.
/console or /c: Opens the Roblox Developer Console. Press here to learn more about the Developer Console.
Miscellaneous commands
/all or /a: Unknown what this command does.
/say or /s: Unknown what this command does.
/version or /v: Display the version of lua-apps.
It generally seems that Roblox is favoring developers implementing chat commands for their own experiences, rather than making chat commands for all experiences, so many chat commands may be broken in newer experiences.
